This Pedal Pub bike was at a green expo at the Minnesota Fairgrounds.
The machine was built in Amsterdam. There's room for six riders at the bar on each side, a seat for the driver and space for a bartender to move about filling drinks. There were no drinks available on this crisp spring day, because Minnesota law does not allow alcohol served on the street. Which kind of makes a mobile bar pointless.
In any case, the vehicle was very heavy and hard to push. There is no downshifting on the bike, though the pedals are geared fairly low. It just takes a while and some effort to build up the momentum and start the thing rolling, especially when half the riders aren't really pedalling. The driver doesn't even help out pedalling, but has a full time job piloting where to go and waiting with a big foot pedal to step on the brake.
